I am of the opinion that one of the most important responsibilities of the Deputy Chair should include training and supporting the district and county BPOU's including recruiting and training of grass roots volunteers.

I have done that – for decades, and with a winning record. I worked to fill seats at every level of county and municipal government so Republicans would have a place to source legislative candidates from, and so that Conservative’s views would have a voice in our local units of government. I have taught Campaign Schools and coached campaign committees and volunteers. I’ve recruited our front-line volunteers based on skill set and personal interests, then trained them so they could use those skills to support our candidates with excellence. There was no room for political favors or apple polishing when it came to getting the job done right. We analyzed what was not working and made changes until we got the results we were after. 

 

I know that to do it well requires passion and the willingness to do whatever it takes for the sake of the cause, not seeking glory, recognition or political promotion. The best person for this job is one who has done it regardless of who got the credit – someone who has done it, not because he wants to fill a need, but only for the reason that the cause needs him. 

 

The party needs a Deputy Chair who has the ability and fortitude to stand up to those who would put personal ambition and political favors before principle. This is the Deputy Chair I pledge to be and Deputy Chair that my record of experience shows that I have always been. 

 

Our grass roots lack no dedication. They simply need a leader who organizes, empowers, trains and inspires them to release the giant within. I will body guard their principles and be a conduit to the party to see to it that problems are dealt with pragmatically. I will step up to unite us so that we are a formidable opponent and become the winning victor that we are capable of being when we stand united and focused.

I am not a go-along to get-along type of person. I see to it that the job gets done right and for the right reasons. I will work well with party leadership but I am certainly no one’s puppet. Minnesota’s GOP has some problems that need to be addressed in order to maintain and increase our majority in the Minnesota Senate and in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

My record has proven that I am fair, level headed and even keeled. I did not get elected State Representative, Mayor, City Council member, BPOU Chair and countless other leadership positions, for any other reason but to be of service to others. That's my record and that's what you can count on.

The MNGOP has long been a sleeping giant of potential. It takes authentic leadership, free of any agenda except to empower our candidates to win. A vote for me to be your next Deputy Chair is a vote for you because with your support, I will help you bring home the victories for Minnesota.
